Two female students are demanding their rights after they were banned from bathing topless at a swimming pool in Uppsala. On September 5th they took a trip to the Fyrishov leisure complex, where they decided to hop in for a swim without their bikini tops.

"We had been swimming for a while without anybody paying us any attention when the guards called us to the side and told us to either put on a top or leave. "We have a lot of visitors here, ranging from families with children to the elderly. We also have people from different ethnic backgrounds. We want all of them to be able to enjoy themselves when they come here. "This issue is new to us and we welcome the debate. It is important that everybody gets to voice their opinion, from families with children to naturists, older people and Muslim women. Men who are considerably older are, of course, more likely to require nursing as they come to the end of their lives, so must be avoided at all cost and much younger men often have an unfortunate agenda when seeking the company of an elderly lady companion with substantial savings.
The prognosis for the older female is a bit grim if she would really like to have a partner late in life but personally I find such ladies, more often than not, set their standards a little high when seeking friendship with a view to romance.
Out of the half dozen friends I have in this position, at least five of them actively seek out handsome men of independent means who will wine and dine them in high style, provide a little romance on demand and then leave them alone to enjoy their solitude when no longer required for entertainment.
Men invariably resent such treatment, unsurprisingly, and one can hardly blame them for feeling exploited.
Another annoying behavioural trait is that when you invite a single lady to your home for dinner, she will invariably enquire whether any single men will be attending and if you respond in the affirmative some will even assume you are trying your hand at match making!
Interestingly, these ladies often complain of being neglected or used by these men when attentions begin to dwindle below the required levels. They forget all too easily that the dating game is a two way street and with the stubbornness that comes with age, refuse to compromise. Therein lies the key, of course; those who wish to find lasting companionship need to look more closely at their own reflection in the mirror before refusing to date a man with a hernia and age freckles.
The other aspect is, of course, the old prophecy about the number of fish in the sea. Men age far more gracefully than women; that is a time tested fact. Annoyingly, so many men in their late fifties begin to look quite tasty, despite having been extremely ugly most of their adult years. There is something irresistible about a haggard, lived in face – ask any Charles Bronson addict. Women, on the other hand, begin to take things more seriously when they reach fifty plus and just look as if their lives have suddenly become branded on their faces. There is no fairness about the matter, it is just a fact.
So, ladies, if you are pushing fifty and want to find someone to love you in your golden years, try lowering your expectations and raising your sense of humour!

How To Approach Women At Nightclubs

You're at a nightclub scamming for babes. Things aren't going good. Looks like you'll be leaving the club like you usually do... alone. You think to yourself... “how do I meet women at nightclubs?” In this article, I will show you how.
The nightclub is a strange environment. Go to one, and you'll see women engaging in one of the greatest mysteries of all time - Dressing up sexy to get attention for men, then acting annoyed when men actually give them attention. So how do you overcome this obstacle? With some strategy and tactics. Let me share with you some of my favorites. They have become my favorites based one criteria – the results the bring.
Nightclub strategy one: I'm not them
Put yourself in a beautiful woman's high heels. You're at a nightclub. How many times will you get approached? Once, twice? Hardly. Try ten times... or even more.
As a man who “gets it”, this is actually to your advantage. Why? Because most guys are dumb, drunk and totally clueless when it comes to creating attraction.
Say to yourself right now... “I'm not them!”
Who are “them”? The men who offer to buy women drinks, kiss up to them in nightclubs and use lame pickup lines. All these actions accomplish one thing... loss of power. You don't want to communicate to a woman that you aren't in control of yourself and out of your element.
You need to have this mind state - you are comfortable in your own reality, and nothing she can do will disrupt that comfort. Remember, there will be resistance when you approach a woman. It's part of the nightclub ritual. She's testing you. Are you in control of your own reality, or will you give up your power at the first sign of trouble? And in a nightclub, it's even more specific. Can you keep up a conversation with a woman that isn't exactly easygoing and friendly?
There's two kinds of resistance. One kind if from the “rude woman” and it's very real. Too tough a nut to crack in one setting. If you approach women regularly, you will run into her kind once in a while. Don't take in personal. Move on.
The other kind of resistance is “give me an excuse to be friendly to you” resistance. If you are picking up on this vibe, press on my friend. She has given you the first indicator that she is interested in you.
Here's two ways to keep the conversation flowing. Charm and routine. My definition of charm is teasing a woman in a way that makes her laugh. It communicates that you are both confident and fun to be around. This is a great formula for producing attraction, and it's a great way to avoid the “friendship zone”.
Routine is a category for things like palmistry, handwriting analysis, magic, and astrology. Read books on any of these if you want to learn a few routines to make interesting conversation.
After creating conversation and passing her resistance test, you have two options. Stay and try to close the deal, or get her contact information and leave. Nightclubs are a tricky environment with lots of distractions such as drunk, dumb guys and her group of protective (and jealous) friends. You must be very skilled in “attraction conversation” to keep the flow going.
If you're not experienced with this yet I suggest you get her number and follow up later on your own terms. There are less chances to make errors this way.
Before this article gets too long, I'll give you a quick summary one other great technique for beginners. It's called the “buddy system”, and is designed specifically for nightclubs. Get a friend to “scout” for you, and do the same for him. Have him approach a woman you like and say, “Hey there. You know something? I think my friend would really like you. He's...” and then have him talk you up.
Soon you show up and are introduced. This technique throws a woman off balance, because her radar is programmed only for direct approaches. This makes the initial conversation with her a lot more easier.
In the end remember... it's just a woman at a nightclub. It doesn't matter if she likes you or not. Just talk to her. She expects you to. Practice communicating that you are comfortable in your own reality, and that you are different than every other drunk and dumb guy that approaches her.
Do this and you'll wonder why you ever thought it was hard to meet women at nightclubs

We're surrounded by advertisements that desperately compete for our attention. Everywhere we look, we find ourselves inevitably drawn to images of scantily clad attractive men and women that are supposed to somehow inspire us to purchase products they endorse. Sure, this attention-getting strategy is popular. But, is it effective?
Sex appeal can increase the effectiveness of an ad or commercial because it attracts the customer’s attention. It’s human nature to be curious about sex. A pair of long legs on a billboard is more likely to catch (and hold) a guy’s attention than a puppy, regardless of how cute it may be. Even women are drawn to them, perhaps with the desire of having goddess-like legs.
However, misuse of sex appeal can be costly. Many campaigns deemed offensive have started brand boycotts that affect sales and damage brand reputation. Abercrombie & Fitch has been involved in several scandals, the latest from their most recent catalog entitled “XXX Wet, Hot Summer Fun.” On April 18, 2002, only a week after the catalog hit the stores, the Illinois State Senate passed a resolution condemning A&F’s advertising tactics. This resolution, backed by several nonprofit organizations, suggests citizens and shareholders boycott Abercrombie’s products and to take a stand against the company’s marketing strategies. Although sexy images in catalogs are not at all uncommon, “XXX Wet, Hot Summer Fun” featured naked boys and girls frolicking in natural settings. Not quite appropriate for an apparel catalog targeted at teenagers.
Sex in advertising has stirred controversy for many years, an advertiser must be careful when incorporating it in a campaign. Great advertisers consider not only the attention-getting power of an advertisement or commercial, but also what kind of emotional response it provokes in customers. Studies show that the attractiveness of the endorsing model provokes positive responses. Nudity and graphic erotic content, while still increasing consumer’s attention, doesn’t really generate positive feelings among viewers. In other words, advertisers must be careful to avoid the “cheap shot,” which may negatively affect a brand’s image.
To avoid that, the sexual content in advertising must be appropriate to the product category and have a proper underlying message. In 2000, Heineken launched the “It’s All About the Beer” campaign. One spot, called “The Premature Pour,” shows a beautiful seductive woman pouring Heineken into a glass. When a guy across the bar responds by pouring his own, he nervously pours too fast and spills foam all over the table and himself. The sexual content is implicit, yet direct. The sexual reference in this and other spots in the campaign worked, causing sales to rise 13% in the first two quarters of 2002. However, Steve Davis (VP of marketing in Heineken USA), claims that, “Provocative is a very good place to be, as long as we’re not inflammatory. But the spots also work for a different reason. From the tag line to the plot, they are about a desire for Heineken. Our ads make the beer the hero.”
Sex sells, yes, but only when used “in good taste.” As marketers we must think not only in getting customers’ attention for the short term, but also in building a brand reputation that will yield long-term results.
